CHE312 – Transport Phenomena II (@UIC)

Spring 2011

Instructor: BS Akpa

Catalog Description: Heat and mass transport phenomena. Heat conduction, convection and radiation. Heat exchanger design. Diffusion. Mass transfer coefficients. Prerequisite(s): CHE 311.

Scope: The objective of this course is to teach students the principles of continuum heat and mass transfer. This includes
conduction, diffusion, and convection. The student is expected to develop a thorough understanding of the analogies
between momentum, heat, and mass transfer. Also, students are introduced to radiation heat transfer and separation
systems.
